Day 6- Rebecca spit marine park

We left at 7:30, after refuelling so that we would have the current with us going south back down Discovery passage. Then we turn north up Sutil passage on the east side of Quadra.

This is where the both and south floods meet; in discovery the flood direction is south, in Sutil it is north!

We arrived at rebecca with some minor drama. Just as we were getting ready to finalize our anchoring spot, the was another odd noise from engine. So, shutdown engine, quickly raise sails, get some way on, drop anchor and trouble shoot. It was loose alternator belt.

While I dealt with that the crew took Pudgy to the beach and did a long walk. I went later on my own  when they returned.

This is nice peaceful spot. The Wei Wai Kum First Nation has a nice campground just next to the park further in the bay. Nice spots on the beach or in the forest.

The photo shows our circle in the current to avoid a log boom. ( see day 4).

Dinner tonight was organic beef patties, steamed potatoes with onion and mushroom gravy and salad.

Plan tomorrow is for early get away to be positioned to transit Beazly passage ( surge narrows). Once we are through ther at 10:00 we have short trip to octopus island marine park. We may be there 2 nights depending on weather in johnston straight.

We have 2 more narrows/rapids to transit before we are clear to head out to johnstone straight, these are very near octopus islands so timing will not be an issue.
