Day 5: Shore Leave

Our plan is to go around Quadra via east side ( not through Seymour narrows....save that for the return trip). There was a strong wind warning for this area, but this morning it seems that the strong winds are north and south but not here. So it is feasible to rush through our chores, and get up to Rebecca Spit.

However we have opted to make today a shore leave day. Things that need doing:
  • clean head!!...clean head!!
  • clean topsides
  • take on fresh water
  • laundry
  • showers for all crew
  • replenish fresh stores
  • ice
  • organize charts for next leg
We treated ourselves to lattes on-board rather than the Italian cowboy coffee, then I fried up the last of fresh meat (sausages) with mushrooms and scrambled eggs.
I had a toast to Ralph last night. By coincidence, the slip we are in now it very near ( or may be) the slip that Ralph and I were in when we came this way on the around vancouver Island trip we did together in 2008(?). AND the same boat was for sale at the end of the slip, that we both said was so badly designed it would never sell, and it still has  not found a buyer.
